A fictionalized version of Ludendorff, which bears little resemblance in terms of appearance or biography, is portrayed by Danny Huston in the 2017 Warner Bros. film Wonder Woman. In the film, which is set during the final days of World War I, Ludendorff grows convinced that Germany can turn the tide with a new "hydrogen-based form of mustard gas" developed by his chief chemist Isabel Maru, which he intends to use in a massive chemical attack against London. This personification is depicted as a super-villain, locking a group of German officers in a makeshift gas chamber and using a gaseous steroid to gain super strength.
