Today, I heard back from the first of the nine doctoral programs to whichI applied. I have been accepted to the PhD in Political Science program at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
I am going to wait and see what results I get elsewhere before deciding what to do, but this is definitely encouraging.

Congratulations, Milan! I expect you’ll be accepted by all nine programs.
That is wonderful news and I think that it would be a fine place to go to. I also expect that you will have some other choices to consider, but it is great nevertheless. Why wouldn’t a university want a brilliant person like you?
Congratulations Milan!
That’s great news…congratulations!
Excellent news – and a good reason to be hopeful with regard to the other 8 applications.
Thanks everyone.
It is encouraging, and UCSB seems to be a very good school in a beautiful setting.
I still need to look into their proposed supervisory arrangements and funding.
