Conceptual/thematic photography

For the most part, my photography just depicts pretty or interesting things that happen to be close to me. That said, I recognize that photography is a medium that has a capacity to go beyond documenting events and producing pleasure, to make meaningful artistic or political statements.

In the next while, I will try to dream up some more conceptual photo projects. Ideas would be welcome.

  1. I am glad that you will take a course in something that genuinely interests you. Since you started your blogs, you have already learned a lot of things about composition and aesthetics in photography. Hope this course will challenge you in new ways.

  2. I like the Harris shutter effect, but I don’t think an effect alone produces much “meaning”. But, any effect, if used with skill and intent, can produce great art.

    11 hour sessions! Intense!
