Boing Boing has some interesting nerdy stuff in their gift guide. That said, a better choice may be helping the Rainforest Action Network fight mountaintop removal mining.
As discussed before, conventional gifts can be pretty problematic.

ThinkGeek shipping is very expensive to Canada, and most of what they sell is available cheaper in other places.
