In the spring of 2005, I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in International Relations and a general focus in the area of environmental politics. In the fall of 2005, I began reading for an M.Phil in IR at Wadham College, Oxford. Outside school, I am very interested in photography, writing, and the outdoors. I am writing this blog to keep in touch with friends and family around the world, provide a more personal view of graduate student life in Oxford, and pass on some lessons I've learned here.

  1. It was no accident that the remarkable Peter Russell chose to be your mentor and friend. His vast knowledge and experience did not impede his ability to see an intelligent, passionate and caring individual with a burning desire to make the world a better place. It was a great privilege to know Peter Russell and to share ideas with him. I have no doubt that he saw great hope in you. You may follow in his footsteps in ways big or small, but it needs to be with humility, hope and kindness.

  2. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and tributes regarding Peter Rusell, such an exceptional guide, scholar and humanitarian. You shared such valuable time and conversation together.
